How to Volunteer

Here at Stepney we are often in need of extra help on the yard at weekends, at peak times during the week and in the evening.

There are many jobs on the yard that a volunteer may find themselves doing such as:

· Mucking out the horses

· Feeding and watering

· Sweeping the yard

· Cleaning tack

· Leading the horses / ponies on novice lessons or walks

Not all volunteers help directly with the horses, other volunteers support things like:

· Office Cover

· Dealing with bookings

· Reception / Dealing with enquiries

· Admin. work

· Cleaning / maintaining the yard & Indoor arena

· Fundraising

· Catering

· Working in our shop

· Management Committee

There are opportunities for all our volunteers to prepare for and undertake accredited training. Volunteers will need to demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to the training and opportunities on offer. Training available to volunteers can cover the following skills:

· Horse Skills

· Stable management skills

· Health & Safety

· First Aid

· Riding

Most of the people you will see at the stables are volunteers who give their time for free.

Our volunteers are extremely important to us, they bring a wide range of skills and experiences to the stables.
It is only through their support and commitment that Stepney Bank Stables has achieved so much.
