How’s Patch Getting On?
Who can remember Patch, Peggy’s foal? He was born on the 1st June 04. That makes him nearly 1 year old now!!
He’s really grown. I guess he’s about 14 hand high now. Funnily enough he’s changed colour too. He was very definitely a skewbald last year but this year he looks sort of pink. It’s quite nice as it’s so unusual. Mind you he could do with learning a few manners. He’s a proper child star! Anything he doesn’t want to do he sharp lets you know.
As you can see from the programme he was OK to have his feet picked out and he went up and down the road at Byker passed all sorts of traffic last year. Now he has decided that cars are really scary and that no-one is allowed to touch his feet! We are spending lots of time trying to gain his confidence. He loves to be groomed and tickled so this isn’t proving too hard although it would be much easier if he wasn’t so cheeky.
However, I’m sure it will all be worth it in the end as his Dad, Oscar looks a true star. Hopefully he will be going to his first show soon. Unlike his son Oscar is so well behaved it’s hard to believe he’s only 5. He’s very handsome too as he is a dark bay skewbald which is very eye catching.
