New Beach To Be Put To The Sandcastle Test

 3 July 2007

140 children from a local school are to put the new beach at Newbiggin Bay to a quality test with a difference.

The whole of Windsor First School will be turning out on Thursday 5 July to enjoy the new beach and test the quality of sand by building sandcastles.

Mrs Anne Carter, Headteacher at Windsor First School, said: “Like many people in Newbiggin, the children are excited about the new beach. At the school we thought it would be a great learning opportunity for pupils if they could run their own fun quality test – by building sandcastles! I dare say the teachers will have lots of fun too.”

The school recently celebrated the town’s new beach with a seaside picnic and sing song.
