Windsor Children Mark New Beach With Seaside Sing Song

28 June 2007

Children from a Newbiggin first school celebrated the creation of a new beach at Newbiggin Bay with a whole school sing song and slap up picnic.

Windsor First School pupils dressed up nautical style as pirates, sailors, surfers, and mermaids to regale their parents with seaside songs including Beatles hit ‘Yellow Submarine’.

Mrs Anne Carter, Headteacher at Windsor First School, said: “The little ones learned loads of seaside songs and the parents really enjoyed their open air concert. Parents, pupils and staff had great fun – a lovely afternoon at the seaside, we just can’t wait for the next one now!”

After the sing song pupils, parents and staff tucked in to a traditional seaside picnic overlooking the new beach.
